Home Assistant Nest Link

Terms of Service

Effective 21 September 2026

This application is not offered to anyone. It is a private integration with a single user — its author — and is published here only because Google requires a public terms page for OAuth applications in production.

Use

The application exists to connect one self-hosted Home Assistant installation to one household’s own Nest thermostat. It is not distributed, not licensed to others, and not available for sign-up. No account can be created and no service is provided to any third party.

No warranty

The application is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. It controls a heating and cooling system and may fail, lose connectivity, or behave unexpectedly. It must not be relied upon as a safety mechanism, and it is not a substitute for the thermostat’s own controls or for any building safety system.

Availability

No uptime is promised. The integration depends on Google’s Smart Device Management API, on a residential internet connection, and on hardware in a private home. Any of these may be unavailable at any time, and the application may be withdrawn or switched off by its author without notice.

Privacy

Data handling is described in full in the privacy policy. In short: nothing is collected, nothing is shared, and there is no server.

Trademarks and affiliation

Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC, Nest Labs, or the Home Assistant project. Google, Nest and Home Assistant are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe what this application connects to.

Changes

These terms may be updated on this page with a revised effective date.
